A beautiful off-kilter capital “Æ” seen in the title of Eiler H. Schiøtz’s Kostlære for husmødre og andre. The “A” part of the ligature is dominant, and itself strongly left leaning, making the form especially surprising.

Also notable are the adjustments to “S” and “L” accommodating the “T”, the swooping leg of “R”, and the lowered crossbar in “E”. The cover is hand-lettered, but offers no information on the originator of the letterforms beyond crediting the printer (and publisher) of the book: Fabritius & Sønner.
