Following the 1804 Catechism, the Gospel of Matthew was translated to the South Karelian Tver’ dialect by the two priests Matvey Zolotinsky and Grigory Vvedensky, and published in 1820.Vvedensky & Zolotinsky, 1820a. A handwritten manuscript is preserved at the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia.Vvedensky & Zolotinsky, 1820b. The writing is Cyrillic, extended with a large number of diacritical marks to transcribe the sounds of the Tver’ dialect.
