Richard Dybeck – otherwise known for writing the de-facto national anthem of Sweden, Du gamle, du fria – published a collection of Elfdalian herding song, calls and riddles in Runa, en skrift för Nordens fornvänner (1850).Dybeck, 1850. Dybeck’s spelling is the Swedish, extended with the eth (ð) and what appears to be a double struck “l”See for example Dala-miusker, p. 28 (Ibid). – possibly a boldface marking of the supradental [ɭ].“[…] in the printing of certain dialectal literature with broad notation, some of these older practices are retained, such as bold type for ‘thick’ l (cacuminal) […]” (Strömbäck, 1961, p. 25).
