Various short verses and tributes written in Elfdalian are found in Swedish academical dissertations, such as Reinhold Ersson Näsman’s De Lacu Siljan (1730).Björklund, 1956, 34. Näsman was a native speaker of the language. His Historiola lingvæ dalekarlicæ (1733) constitutes the earliest scholarly treatment of Elfdalian, and also its first known grammar. The Latin dissertation cites a long Elfdalian dialog.Björklund, 1956.
